We have taken still photographs for a variety of clients, from fashion brands to high tech manufacturers, from skin creams to hotels to music labels – we even helped McGill University with their re-branding efforts.
What we always strive for is a cinematic feel: the vivid sense that we are seeing a single moment within a larger dramatic context.
Our specific look is achieved through careful study of the stories evoked by the brands we serve, coaching the models as though they were actors, with character backstories and motivations, and by using precise film lighting techniques rather than photography strobes.
We also apply the same meticulous planning and pre-visualization to photo shoots that we do for our video work.
We have recently begun using our Red Epic to pull ultra-high resolution stills from video. This results in photos that feel even more like a slice of active human life, with the keen sense that something has just happened, and something else is about to.
All of these factors also make it easy for us to time-efficiently shoot stills and video on the same day.
